Invest in Open Research (IOR) is a strategic fund that encourages long-term innovation, triple-helix collaboration, and information exchange in the region through Open Science. The primary focus is on enhancing capacity in data management and policy adoption, which includes developing the skills, systems, and processes required for efficient data handling and policy implementation. The IOR will provide seed funding for projects that support the following areas:

  1. Training and Education: – Offer training programmes for data analysts, knowledge managers, and decision-makers on open data management.
  2. Infrastructure and Tools: – Invest in reliable open data management systems and technologies and ensure access to appropriate hardware and tools that align with FAIR principles.
  3. Data Governance: – Establish clear institutional data governance rules and procedures on data management to support FAIR principles.
  4. Encourage data exchange and collaboration across departments and organizations.
